If you’re dreaming of studying at a university with a great academic reputation and value for money, then look no further: the UK’s long-standing reputation for academic excellence dates back to the 11th century, and its universities continue to raise the bar in the world of academia.
It’s not surprising that more than 500,000 international students choose to study here each year! However, with inflation culminating in a startling 10.4% rise in 2023, prospective students may understandably question whether now is the right time to embark on their academic journey to the UK.
There are more than 160 universities and higher education institutions in the UK – 84 of which are featured in the QS World University Rankings 2021.
With the government’s full support and a steadfast commitment to promoting international education, the United Kingdom is positioned to continue to be a leading destination for global students in the years to come. Furthermore, the abundance of outstanding job prospects makes studying in the UK an excellent launchpad for future career success.
Comprehensive funding options are readily accessible through university scholarship programs.
The academic requirements for students applying to study in the UK can vary depending on the level of study (undergraduate or postgraduate) and the specific university and program. However, here are some general guidelines:
➡️Completion of higher secondary education (Grade 12) or its equivalent.
➡️ A-levels, International Baccalaureate (IB), or other equivalent qualifications are typically required.
Minimum Grade
➡️Many universities in the UK look for a minimum GPA, which is roughly a GPA of 4.0 or higher on a 5.0 scale.
Some programs may have specific subject requirements or may require a higher GPA in relevant subjects.
Undergraduate Programs:
➡️ A relevant bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Minimum Grade
➡️International qualifications should be equivalent to at least an upper second-class (2:1) or lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate honors degree, depending on the applied course. A Bachelor’s degree with a score of 65-70% or above is generally accepted.
Note: Please ensure to review the precise entry requirements of the university and program of your interest, as these may differ. Refer to the official website of the institution for the most precise and current information.
